Masawat Program: Benazir Khawajasara Program New Registration

Introduction to the Masawat Program

The Masawat Program is designed to provide financial assistance to transgender women, offering Rs. 7,000 every three months. This initiative aims to eradicate poverty and provide equal financial support to all, including transgender individuals. The Government of Pakistan has decided to extend this assistance to transgender women above 40 years of age.

Challenges Faced by Transgender Individuals

In Pakistan, transgender people face numerous personal, social, cultural, and economic challenges, often resulting in high risks of isolation and social exclusion. These challenges make them one of the most disadvantaged groups, living in persistent poverty and with poor human capital development. Recognizing this, social security policymakers are focusing on providing support to this vulnerable group.
