Balochistan includes 70% of approved schemes
QUETTA: For the first time in Balochistan’s history, the provincial Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2024-2025 includes a significant 70% of approved uplift schemes. This initiative aims to enhance good governance and increase the effective utilization of development funds. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced that the goal is to include 100% of the schemes in the PSDP by the following year.
Increased Utilization Target
Chief Minister Bugti highlighted that the provincial coalition administration has set a target to utilize 70 to 80% of the PSDP, addressing the historically low expenditure rates on development projects. He emphasized the need for a healthy competition among lawmakers, bureaucrats, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of development schemes.
Monitoring and Reallocation of Funds
Bugti issued a warning that development funding would be reallocated from underperforming projects to those progressing swiftly. He urged parliamentarians to stay in their constituencies and closely monitor the progress of uplift schemes.
