The budget allocated to the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP)for the current financial year is substantial, aimed at providing economic support to poor and deserving families. The program will distribute funds quarterly to assist these families in improving their living standards.
According to the details, around 598 billion rupees have been earmarked for BISP this year. This initiative has played a significant role in reducing poverty levels in Pakistan since its inception.
Of the total budget, approximately 1.064 billion rupees are allocated for asset purchases. Around 6.235 billion rupees are set aside for employee salaries and administrative expenses, while about 225 million rupees are dedicated to media and communication efforts for BISP.
Beneficiaries Included In BISP
BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid emphasized that the program aims to lift around 1 million people out of poverty and help them lead better lives. As their economic conditions improve, they will continue to be supported by the program. An additional 700,000 beneficiaries currently living in poverty are also set to be included. To facilitate this, dynamic registration has been initiated, with offices established at the tehsil level for easier access.
Moreover, a NADRA Mobile Registration Unit has been launched to provide registration services to people in cities, towns, and villages. Following registration, eligibility will be assessed, and those with a poverty score below 40 will receive assistance funds. Ms. Rubina Khalid also mentioned that the BISP budget could be increased if necessary to support the program’s goals.
A budget of approximately 2.74 billion rupees has been allocated for the dynamic registration process in the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). This budget will cover the expenses related to registering individuals, with the largest portion of the cost attributed to the use of NADRA mobile vans. These vans, which provide registration services directly to people at their doorsteps, have resulted in higher expenses.
Additionally, 4.083 billion rupees have been earmarked for direct financial assistance to beneficiaries. A further 461.603 billion rupees have been allocated specifically for providing financial aid to women under the sponsorship program.

Moreover, a separate allocation of 1.706 billion rupees has been made for a program dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities.
